BIM Modeling and Workflow in Construction Management

What do you understand after reading the topic? Is it related to Construction management? What is BIM Modeling? From where to get answers to these questions? Hold on… we are here to answer all your questions. Being an Engineer or a construction professional, what exactly you know about BIM and its workflow in construction management? Let’s scroll down to know more…
Let’s get started with the basic information.
What is BIM?
There seems a lot of improvements in quality and project deliverables with the introduction of new technologies in the construction arena. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is one such innovation in the construction sector making the process smooth, comfortable and reliable. It is the process, a new way of describing what might be possible beyond the stacks of 2D drawings.
Building information modeling is neither a software nor an application, but it is a streamlined process that allows the users to make better decisions in various project phases right from the design phase based on accurate information analysis. BIM, in very simple language, is an approach to the entire project cycle, including design, construction, quantity-takeoffs and facilities management. The process supports the ability to coordinate, update, and share designs with the team members and the stakeholders. It also helps engineers involved in the process to predict project’s performance to increase safety, constructability, and sustainability before the actual construction. Thus, benefits to make better decisions and to make more economical project delivery within schedule.
Well, now you are pretty much aware of what BIM is and how it is useful in Construction management. Get to know more, have a look!
BIM is a single data model, containing every small information needed to create the building or any construction project jointly designed by all the stakeholders. The BIM approach to construction is gaining traction, but still represents only a small portion of all AEC industry. According to most of the professional organizations, half of the construction projects take more time to finish.
Sounds interesting, right?
